About the Law Firm

Margarita Morton, owner and managing attorney, founded Morton Law, PLLC, in 2016. Ms. Morton was born in Texas, but her closest family members immigrated to the U.S. Her family has allowed her to understand that immigration is much more than legal transactions and paperwork. It is truly about the lives of real people. It is about the reunification of families, the beginning of new lives for individuals, and the business owners who are seeking to find the right people to achieve their goals. Morton Law, PLLC, exists to ensure that all individuals, families, and businesses have the right legal guidance and representation to achieve their goals.

Ms. Morton became exposed to the intricacies of immigration law during her last year in law school when she started volunteering with a large local nonprofit. She entered the immigration world during the height of the DACA applications and it was her contact with the clients and hearing their stories that moved her to continue volunteering. Her exposure to countless families going through this process sparked a passion for this area of law, and thus set the course of her legal career. Following graduation, she was hired by the same nonprofit as an Attorney and was exposed to a wide variety of cases, including family-based immigration, humanitarian cases, removal defense, waivers of inadmissibility, and more. This tenure helped her develop a deep commitment to her clients and a passion for this area of law. Afterwards, Ms. Morton founded a private firm with a legal partner which added not only to her legal expertise, but to the many intricacies of running a firm.

In 2016, Ms. Morton decided to reorient her practice. She opened her boutique law firm in the heart of Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth. A minimalist philosophy toward facilities and a streamlined approach to administrative concerns has given her the ability to choose the cases she takes. She provides her clients with individualized attention and a true personal engagement. The goal is for all clients to receive the best legal representation with the greatest ease possible.

In 2020, due to the global pandemic, Morton Law, PLLC, transitioned from a fully in-person law firm to a hybrid model. As such, the law firm offers telephone or video appointments with the attorney which allows the firm to assist clients nationwide and overseas. Over the last several years, the firm has successfully incorporated safe and secure measures to communicate with clients electronically and remotely, thus making case preparation and case management more efficient and seamless. Nonetheless, we offer limited in-person appointments to existing clients on an as-needed basis.

In 2024, Morton Law, PLLC moved to west downtown Fort Worth. This move marks a significant step in its growth as it permits the team to continue providing exceptional services to new and existing clients. The new location offers a more conducive environment to work and collaborate with other legal services, thus enhancing case efficiency, client services, and overall operations.

We proudly offer prompt communications when receiving telephone or electronic inquiries as we prioritize client experience. Whether you, a family member, your business, or enterprise has a need for knowledgeable legal services, we invite you to contact us. We would be honored to assist and determine whether we are the right fit for each other.
